Finding Books

Finding Books in Goldfarb Library:

There are lots of ways to find the books you need for your research. If you just want to be able to explore your topic but don't know the names of good books, used the "Advanced Search" feature on OneSeach our library's catalog of resources. You can type in your keyword (s) to find something on your topic. Once you have found at least one good book, click on the "subject" headings in the record of the book. This will give you lots of other titles in our library with the same topic or subject.

If you already know the name of a book, you can use "Basic Search." Just type the name into OneSearch after pulling down the 'choose type of search' menu bar to "titles beginning with..." and leaving off any articles like "A," "An," or "The."

If you want to browse in the stacks, use  "Call Numbers" and search for the topic you're most interested in. You can then go to the library and browse in the stacks using the general call number as a guide. You will see many, many books in that same subject area in our library stacks.

To learn more about specific Call Numbers, you can view all the call number areas in the :

Library of Congress classification system.
