Overview

Oral communication courses or activities enhance students' ability to communicate and listen effectively in a range of contexts, critically evaluate orally presented information and arguments and learn specific techniques for using language as a communication tool. Each department and interdepartmental program will be expected to develop an oral communication curriculum within the major that satisfies all of the following criteria:

  • Provides specific oral communication instruction (can be given in multiple ways, listed below).
  • Includes clear, detailed individual feedback on communication/presentation skills.
  • Provides opportunities to use feedback to allow for revision or improvement in another oral communication experience.
