Scholarly content with context and solutions-oriented points of view on topics related to race, ethnicity, diversity, and inclusiveness.  Designed to provide undergraduate student researchers with a deeper understanding of how current issues stem from actions and policies of the past.  Each topic includes an overview article and three essays suggesting potential solutions. Solutions essays are written specifically for this database by a diverse group of writers representing the fields of academia, journalism, medicine, and other disciplines working to address issues related to race.

  • The CIA Research Reports from 1946-1976 collection deals with international questions and biographical reports, offering profiles of relatively unknown leaders. Reports are from both the Central Intelligence Agency and its predecessor, the Central Intelligence Group, and relate to the Middle East; Soviet Union; Vietnam and Southeast Asia; China; Japan, Korea, and Asian security; Europe; Africa; and Latin America.
  • Records collected by Raymond Murphy on Communism in China and Eastern Europe from 1917-1958. This collection provides information on war recovery efforts, international aid, and the formation of countries and substantial information on the Chinese Communist Party.

A collection of primary source exhibits for students and scholars of queer history and culture, curated by academic editors Marc Stein and Lisa Arellano. The database uses “queer” in its broadest and most inclusive sense, embracing LGBT topics as well as other sexual and gender formations that are queer. Particular focus is given to perspectives from people of color, trans people and people with disabilities.

The liberation of Southern Africa and the dismantling of the Apartheid regime was one of the major political developments of the 20th century, with far-reaching consequences for people throughout Africa and around the globe.
