All Brandeis ArcGIS Online users can create an ArcGIS Online Group and invite ArcGIS Online users at Brandeis or other institutions to the group. Group members will have read-only access to content shared in the group space.
Current Brandeis students / faculty / staff can request an ArcGIS Online group from our GIS librarian. Groups with update/editing capabilities are restricted to ArcGIS Online users at Brandeis. Outside collaborators can be invited to a Brandeis ArcGIS Online group if their organization has an institutional subscription to ArcGIS Online. Groups with outside collaborators are limited to read-only access.
Go to the Content menu in Brandeis ArcGIS Online.
The default sharing permissions are set to Owner. Click the Edit group sharing button at the bottom of the pop-up window to access the list of Brandeis ArcGIS Online Groups that you can share content with.
Click the checkbox next to the ArcGIS Online group you'd like to share content with, then click OK at the bottom of the pop-up window to change the sharing permissions. The content is now shared with members of your ArcGIS Online group.
Members of your group can access your group's content in Brandeis ArcGIS Online by going to the Groups menu and then selecting your group. Each of the items you and your groupmates shared will be available in the group.
Click on the item you'd like to view or edit.
If you're directed to the Item Details page for an item (e.g., a story map), you can click the Configure button to start editing the item.
Note: Editing capabilities are only available in shared update groups.
