Workarounds for Trackpad Issues

The following keyboard shortcuts might prove helpful if you encounter issues performing tasks with ArcGIS Pro using the trackpads on your computer. Using an external mouse instead of a trackpad can also help with workflows. You can use our library's equipment loan program if you need to check out a mouse, adapters, etc.

Troubleshooting Error Codes in ArcGIS Pro

Troubleshooting Error Codes in ArcGIS Pro

Here are a few recommended troubleshooting strategies if you receive an error message when performing a task in ArcGIS Pro.

  1. Click the ellipsis icon (...) next to the error code to see more options, including possible solutions to that error message. Click Help to be redirected to the ArcGIS Pro help page for that specific error (e.g., Error 00374: Unique numeric IDs are not assigned), which will provide more guidance on how to fix the error.

  2. If you can't fix a specific error, check to see if you received any additional error messages. You may need to fix the other errors before you can address the other error in question.

  3. Check GIS user forums, like Esri Community or GIS Stack Exchange to see if other users have experienced the same issue and what steps they took to resolve it.

  4. Contact our GIS librarian if you're a Brandeis community member and need help troubleshooting an error message in ArcGIS Pro. Our staff can help you figure out if it's an issue that we can troubleshoot internally or if you encountered a software bug or more advanced technical issue that will require the assistance of Esri Tech Support.

AppStream Troubleshooting

Lost Connectivity due to Inactivity

You will lose your connection to Amazon AppStream after a period of inactivity. This can result in data loss for your ArcGIS Pro project if you are not actively saving your work. ArcGIS Pro will create a project backup every 5 minutes (after you've saved your initial project), which is helpful in cases when the software crashes but it's good practice to regularly save your progress.
