What You See on the Moodle 4 Dashboard:
Course List: Shows all your courses. You can quickly access course materials, assignments, and grades.
Upcoming Events: Lists important dates like assignment deadlines and exam schedules to help you stay on track.
To-Do List: Displays tasks you need to complete, like pending assignments and quizzes.
Notifications: Shows recent messages and announcements from your courses.
Activity Feed: A summary of recent activities in your courses, such as new posts and updates.
Extra Widgets: Might include additional information or links to university resources.
The dashboard helps you stay organized and keep track of your studies.
Notification settings in Moodle 4 help you keep track of important activities and updates in your courses. You can customize these settings to receive alerts in a way that works best for you, such as by email or directly within Moodle.
Notifications may include reminders about assignments, forum posts, and other course activities. By adjusting these settings, you can control which updates you receive, helping you stay informed without getting too many messages.
This guide will show you how to manage your notification settings so that you can stay connected and up-to-date in your courses.
1. To access your notification preferences, select the Notification tray from the Moodle Navigation Bar.
2. Select the gear icon to access your notification settings.

Web notifications are alerts you receive directly within Moodle when you’re logged in. These can include:
Email notifications are sent to your registered email address and can include:
Your dashboard is unique to you and is customizable. Many block on the page are set by the university and cannot be removed. However, you can reorganize the current block or add new blocks to make the dashboard more useful for your own personal preferences.
To start customizing your dashboard, select the Edit Mode button in the top right corner of the Dashboard. You must do this to see the options described below.
Locate the blocks you want to move. Select the icon in the upper right area of the block and drag it to your target location. Single clicking the icon without holding will open a menu of locations to move the block with may be unclear or confusing.
Scroll down your dashboard page until you see Add a Block at the bottom of the left column. This should be the final block in this column and is not visible unless you have edit mode selected on.
If you've added a block and don't like or want it, you can delete it. Please note that many blocks are set by the university and cannot be removed.
1. Locate the block you want to move.
2. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner of the block and then select Delete Block.
