Brandeis Library OneSearch


OneSearch is the Brandeis Library's main catalog and database search tool.

  • Library Catalog: Use this option to search for physical items (books, print journals, DVDs, etc.), ebooks, and streaming media owned by the library.
  • Articles & More: Use this option to search across many databases of articles in journals, newspapers, magazines, encyclopedias, and dictionaries.
  • All OneSearch: Use this option to search both the Library Catalog and Articles & More.
  • Course Reserves: Use this option to search for books that have been set aside for your courses.

Find Books on a Topic

  1. Go to OneSearch. Switch the drop-down menu from All OneSearch to Library Catalog.
  2. Start with a keyword search. A keyword search will look for your search terms in the title, author, description, and subject fields.
  3. Use the sidebar menu on the search results page to limit your results to books and e-books.
    Resource Type: Books & EBooks.
  4. If you want to limit your results to just e-books, click Available Online in the sidebar menu.

Browsing the Shelves

The majority of materials in Brandeis Library are arranged by Library of Congress call numbers. Items related to environmental studies are located in different areas in the library.
