Special Advice for Practicum Students

Before Traveling to Your Practicum Site

Spending some time doing library research before you travel is a good idea for anyone, and especially good if you anticipate slow, intermittent, or limited internet access at your practicum site.

  • Make an appointment to talk with a librarian about your research topic before, during, or after writing your proposal.
  • Do as much research as you can and download full-text PDFs while you are at Brandeis.  Check out books and scan useful chapters.
  • Brush up on APA style.
  • Get to know Zotero citation management software.

While You're On Practicum
