Move from LATTE to Moodle 4

Beginning with the Fall 2024 semester, Brandeis will move from LATTE to Moodle 4. Please visit our Moodle 4 documentation. LATTE courses will be available through Fall 2024.

Overview

While we recommend using either the Feedback or Questionnaire activities within LATTE for gathering course-specific data, there may be scenarios where you find that an external tool best meets your need. One university-supported survey tool is Google Forms.

Support

The Library's Instructional Technology team is available to help you add a pre-made Google Form to your LATTE course or determine which tool is best for your needs. If you need support creating a Google Form or accessing your Brandeis Google account, please contact the ITS Help Desk at help@brandeis.edu. Google also provides training and support documentation for Google Forms.

Linking to a Google Forms Survey

To include a Google Forms survey in your LATTE course, we recommend sharing it as a link.

Copy the Form Link

  1. Open your form in Google Forms.
  2. In the top right, click Send.
  3. At the top of the window, click Link Link.
  4. To copy the link that appears, click Copy or press Ctrl + c (Windows) or ⌘ + c (Mac) on your keyboard.

Add the Link to Your Course

  1. In your course with the editing turned on, click Add an activity or resource in the section where you want to add the activity.
  2. Select URL from the activity chooser window.

  3. Enter a name for the survey which will display on your course page.
  4. Paste the link you copied from Google Forms into the External URL field.
  5. Scroll down to the Appearance section and click to expand it. This setting determines where and how your link will open when your students click on it. We recommend either leaving the default Automatic setting or changing it to New Window to open in a new tab.
  6. The rest of the settings on this page are optional. You can customize your students' experience with the activity by adjusting these.
  7. Click the Save and return to course button at the bottom of the page when you're finished.
