Move from LATTE to Moodle 4

Beginning with the Fall 2024 semester, Brandeis will move from LATTE to Moodle 4. Please visit our Moodle 4 documentation. LATTE courses will be available through Fall 2024.

Overview

While we recommend using either the Feedback or Questionnaire activities within LATTE for gathering course-specific data, there may be scenarios where you find that an external tool best meets your need. One university-supported survey tool is Qualtrics. The primary reason to use Qualtrics is if you need robust data analysis on your survey data beyond what is available through LATTE or Google Forms but without using a third tool.

Support

The Instructional Technology team is available to help you add a pre-made Qualtrics survey to your LATTE course or determine which tool is best for your needs.

Additional support for Qualtrics design and data analysis is available through consultations with the Library's Data Services unit. Qualtrics also provides training and support documentation.

How To

To include a Qualtrics survey in your LATTE course, we recommend sharing it as a link.

  1. All Brandeis community members may create a basic Qualtrics account with a UNet ID at brandeis.qualtrics.com.
  2. Locate the sharing link for your survey and copy the link. Please refer to the official Qualtrics documentation for detailed instructions on generating and copying the link for your survey.
  3. In your course with the editing turned on, click Add an activity or resource in the section where you want to add the activity.
  4. Select URL from the activity chooser window.

  5. Enter a name for the survey which will display on your course page.
  6. Paste the link you copied from Qualtrics into the External URL field.
  7. Scroll down to the Appearance section and click to expand it. This setting determines where and how your link will open when your students click on it. We recommend either leaving the default Automatic setting or changing it to New Window to open in a new tab.
  8. The rest of the settings on this page are optional. You can customize your students' experience with the activity by adjusting these.
  9. Click the Save and return to course button at the bottom of the page when you're finished.
