Course Reserves: Reserves for Faculty/Instructors

A guide to course reserves in the library for faculty, instructors and students.

Course Reserves are books, videos and other materials that faculty members and instructors set aside for class reading and course work. We encourage faculty members and instructors to place all required course materials on reserve to ensure that these high demand items are available to all of your students. Our services are offered to any faculty, staff, or teaching assistants affiliated with Brandeis University.

Physical reserves (books, DVDs, CDs) are kept behind the Information & Borrowing desk in the Brandeis Library and have restricted borrowing rules. Electronic course materials (readings, ebooks, videos and other media) can be made available through LATTE.

Course Reserves Request Form

Faculty members & instructors may put books and media on reserve by filling out the Course Reserves Request Form (more about materials that are accepted for reserve).

Please allow 2-3 business days to process reserve requests for library-owned materials, and 5+ business days to order and process purchase requests for reserve materials. Requests submitted within 2 weeks of the first day of classes will experience significantly longer processing times.

Reserve processing is available: Monday - Friday (excluding University staff holidays). If you have any questions, please email or call 781-736-4591.

Open Educational Resources

Affordable and Open Educational Resources Grants

Faculty who are interested in incorporating open educational resources into their courses can apply for funding to compliment their efforts. These grants will also allow faculty to engage with librarians, instructional designers, and Faculty Fellows from the Center for Teaching and Learning.
