Zines (short for fanzines) are handmade, self-published publications that are created using photocopiers. They are often distributed in small runs and are more about self-expression than profit. There are a variety of types of zines, including: art zines, food zines, music zines, perzines (personal zines), travel zines, etc.

Zine Supplies at Brandeis Library

Note: Access to zine kits in Fall 2020 will be based on current public health guidelines.

Need to borrow some supplies from the library to work on your zine? We have zine making supplies in our Digital Scholarship Lab. If you need access to any of the following zine making supplies, please email our Maker Lab team (makerlab@brandeis.edu).

  • Long-armed stapler
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Color pencils
  • Cut mats
  • Butcher paper
  • Sewing kit (needles/thread, push pins, safety pins, thimble, etc.)
