More and more journals and grants are requiring an ORCiD. If you want to learn more or create one, check out the Getting Started with ORCiD and Using ORCiD pages. If you're interested in how ORCID can be used in the Health Sciences, read on! How can you use your ORCID account?

First, sign into your NCBI account. Then select your username in the upper right-hand corner to access the account menu and select Account Settings.

In the Linked accounts section of this page select the "Add account" link.

Search for ORCiD among the available 3rd-party partners.

Select the ORCiD link in the search results, log into your ORCiD account (if you are not already logged in), and click the Authorize button to give NCBI permission to Read your ORCID record.
Then on the NCBI login page you can select ORCiD to sign in with your ORCiD credentials.

On your SciENcv homepage. Select edit next to My Profile, add your first and last name, and select "Select here to link your ORCiD ID".

Select the + New Document to create a new biosketch.
Give your Biosketch a name, choose the format you need, then choose ORCiD as the External source.

After you have created the biosketch you can import citations from ORCiD. For example, in the Personal Statement section click on "Select citations", choose the ORCID tab, select the citations you want to be added and then click "Save citations".
