Polls and Surveys

Overview

Live polling tools offer engagement and learning benefits for both online and in-person live classes. Many faculty across the university have enjoyed and have had success using these tools.

Since these are not LATTE tools, we only provide a brief overview of the tools here. Please note that not all of these tools are officially supported by Brandeis and therefore we may only offer limited support if you choose to use them.

The Library's Center for Teaching and Learning is always available to work with faculty, TAs/CAs, and staff from each of the university's schools and departments to incorporate academic technology into your teaching and design technology-integrated learning activities.

Zoom Polls

The Zoom polling feature allows you to create single choice or multiple choice polling questions for your classes. You can create the polls in advance and launch them for your students to answer during your live class. You also have the ability to download a report of the poll responses after the class. If preferred, polls can also be conducted anonymously.

Echo360 Polls

The Echo360 Active Learning Platform is available to faculty, staff and students to host, manage and record academic media content. Polling questions in Echo360 can be used to engage with your students on specific topics and concepts from the class. Echo360 polls can be added in two ways:

  1. Inserting an interactive slide into a presentation that students can vote on during class, including via text message.
  2. Embedding polls into recorded video or audio to create an interactive media experience.
