What's New in ArcGIS Online

Process

If you're using ArcGIS Online for academic, research, or teaching purposes:

  1. Go to Brandeis ArcGIS Online:

  2. Click the Brandeis University login option. You will be directed to Brandeis login page where you can sign in with your Brandeis username and password.

    ArcGIS Online Institutional sign-in.
  3. If this is your first time signing into Brandeis ArcGIS Online, you will be redirected to your user profile. Confirm your profile details and visibility permissions (e.g., private, Brandeis-only, public), and save your changes. Click the Home menu to be redirected to the Brandeis ArcGIS Online homepage.

If you're using ArcGIS Online for administrative purposes:

Brandeis has two ArcGIS Online instances, an academic use site and an administrative use site. If you are using Esri software (e.g., ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, etc.) for administrative purposes, you'll need to contact our GIS Librarian to receive an email invite to our administrative use site. This will help ensure that we're compliant with our software licensing agreements with Esri. Once you receive an email invite, you'll be able to sign into our administrative use site using your Brandeis credentials.

Administrative uses of the software include: facilities management, field operations, campus safety, asset management, student recruitment, fundraising, emergency management, etc.

ArcGIS Online Support at Brandeis Library

Brandeis Library provides multiple forms of instruction and research support for ArcGIS Online.

  • Students, faculty, and staff can meet with our GIS Librarian or Digital Literacy Instruction Librarian for instruction and research support for learning ArcGIS Online. We offer individual and small group appointments in-person and via Zoom.
  • Faculty can request ArcGIS Online instruction session(s) for their courses. This can be a general ArcGIS Online workshop or one tailored to a specific course assignment or learning outcome. Contact our GIS Librarian or Digital Literacy Instruction Librarian if you would like an ArcGIS Online session for your course.
  • ArcGIS Online workshops are also offered as part of our library's workshop series
