A course participant with grading privileges would encounter an error while attempting to assess an assignment that would lock them out of grading any other submissions after a particular submission. They would encounter a notification: "No userid or cmid" error. The issue was tracked down to the timing of submissions, and a new submission “jumping the queue” while the application was processing a particularly complex or densely formatted document, via plagiarism detection. The vendor was contacted and subsequently a patch was provided that should prevent this error from recurring.

The contributed plugin Questionnaire has historically provided the option to view a list of users who have not completed the questionnaire ("non-respondents") and to select those users to send them a message. In the current version of Moodle, the contributed Questionnaire plugin calls upon deprecated functionality and fails to display the message field to send such a message.
The latest version of the Questionnaire plugin was released on August 30, 2024; the LMS team will evaluate and install the updated version of this plugin as soon as it is made available by its developers.
In the interim, instructors can accomplish the same task (messaging all students who have not completed a Questionnaire activity, or any other activity) using the Course Participation report available in all Moodle courses.

When adding Quiz questions from the Moodle Question Bank, selected category filters do not persist when users browse 2 or more pages within the chosen category. The global Moodle development team is aware of the issue, and they are investigating possible solutions to be included in newer Moodle versions. Question Bank categories with fewer than 21 questions are unaffected by this issue; as an interim solution, instructors are encouraged to group their questions into smaller Categories.

Our Moodle site allows instructors to enter grades that exceed the Maximum Grade value associated with the activity. However, a bug in our current version of Moodle prevents the entering of such grades in the Grader Report. This issue does not affect the Single View report or the grading interface in the Assignment activity; instructors are encouraged to use Single View and the Assignment grading interface to enter such grades until the next Moodle upgrade, when the issue is expected to be resolved.

The Course Format options in Course Settings were visible to administrator accounts but not to Instructor roles
Moodle 4 is configured to allow for 3 types of course format (Topics, Weekly, Social). The instructor role contains the correct permissions to view this function but can’t. Troubleshooting has revealed that this is potentially a bug introduced with Moodle v. 4.3 - patch was applied.

Categorization of issue (bug fix, ongoing maintenance)
As reported vulnerabilities are identified in the Moodle product, ongoing analysis and development occurs to determine if it is necessary to apply an immediate patch, if a fix can be incorporated into ongoing weekly maintenance, or if a change can be deferred to another regularly scheduled update.
Currently the approach to LATTE is to make minimal changes but to attend to anything that could cause system instability. In Moodle the approach is currently to defer changes to larger updates, except for any serious security vulnerabilities.
