During our library session, we'll look at some of Esri's Living Atlas of the World apps as examples of GIS and remote sensing technologies that can be used for conservation GIS. We'll also review some participatory mapping projects in addition to the projects covered in your course readings.

Participatory, Social, & Community-Based Mapping Projects

The following participatory mapping / critical cartography projects focus on regions across the globe. Projects that focus on geographic regions outside of Latin America are included to highlight the range of mapping techniques and social issues addressed in participatory mapping projects.
