StoryMaps: Design a Dynamic and Spatially-Driven Narrative

StoryMaps Layout Examples

Use this graphic to decide which template option to choose when creating your StoryMap. Some key points to remember:

  • Build Your Own is the most flexible, and it can be used to create a Sidecar or Tour

  • Integrating wide frame textboxes and images are possible with any template

  • Build Your Own is the only way to include lines/polygons via the integrated Express Maps feature

  • You can't feed data layers into the StoryMaps mapping interface. You can, however, create a map using ArcGIS Online, save it to your Content, and add it to your StoryMap (tutorial coming soon!)
